WHAT MAKES LWA SO GREAT?

• We are blessed to have been twice voted "Best Elementary School" by the readers of West Newsmagazine in "Best of West.".
• The outstanding core staff is degreed, experienced, and confirmed in their faith. They are dedicated to teaching, training, loving, and mentoring the children of LWA.
• The average K-8th class size is 15 students, offering countless opportunities for individual attention and maximum benefit from our loving environment. We believe every child is God’s special and unique creation, and we celebrate that at LWA every day!
• The curriculum is evaluated at every grade for every subject to achieve the best academic standard available and is one of the most challenging in all of West St. Louis County. Wherever possible, a Christian-based curriculum is used, including: A Beka, Saxon, Bob Jones, Apologia, and ACSI. We measure our effectiveness with the Iowa Standardized Test, and our students consistently perform better than 75 percent of all students nationwide. Amazing!
• We emphasize spiritual development and character development throughout each day. We study God’s word in depth, train on the LWA Honor Code and discuss life application to equip our students with the knowledge to grow in Christ-like character.
• Our fully funded $3 million facility includes a state-of-the-art gymnasium and library.
• Our excellent Learning Center uses the Spire and Wilson Method for teaching reading and phonics as well as assisting the needs of students in other areas.​
• Our Exploratory Curriculum includes: P.E. Art, Music, Spanish, and Computer Science.
• We nurture the whole child at LWA through activities including: annual musical productions, Upward basketball, cheerleading, and soccer, middle school and high school volleyball and basketball, and public speaking experience through Speech & Word Festival participation and Chapel presentations.
• We offer the option for 8th grade students to earn high school credits in math and foreign language.

OUR HISTORY

In an effort to find a Christian elementary school, several moms from West County Community Church (WCCC) in Wildwood began a search for an academically challenging school that taught from a Christian worldview. Their search was fruitless. After meeting with the pastor and discussing the disappointment in their school search, the pastor suggested that a school be started at WCCC, since the building had already been planned to house a school sometime in the future.
Not long after that, the school board was formed and began meeting in the summer of 2003. They met for the next 18 months, and in the fall of 2005, Living Water Academy opened its doors for the first time. With 39 students enrolled, LWA’s charter classes began with Pre-K through 4th grade. After the first two years, the board decided to move ahead and continue on with a middle school.
Since then, LWA has continued to grow with each year and now includes Pre-k through high school along with kid's day out programs and an aftercare program. LWA has continued adding teachers and programs as well as students, and is housed in a beautiful building on the now Fellowship of Wildwood/LWA campus with a full gymnasium and chapel. God continues to grow and bless LWA, and everyone – students, parents, teachers and board alike – are excited to see what God has in store for the future of this amazing school.

Living Water Academy is a partner in ministry with Fellowship of Wildwood, made up of people who are seeking to discover and live the abundant life that can only be realized in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Living Water Academy translates that focus into every aspect of education at our school. Our objective is Godly excellence with relevance in all that we do while raising servant leaders of real character equipped to impact the world. Our Christ-centered curriculum takes His love beyond the chapel and into the classroom, incorporating Christ’s love and learnings into every subject.

Although we are a partner with Fellowship of Wildwood, we welcome all families interested in Christian education and strong academics, regardless of background. Most LWA families are not members at Fellowship of Wildwood. The common denominator in all our families is a genuine desire to see their children raised in a safe, loving environment, based upon the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
